Iconic “Presidencial” sofa designed by modernist master Jorge Zalsupin for Lʼatelier in 1959.

Embracing Brazilian woods, Italian leathers, and organic sinuous shapes his designs draw upon the intrinsic vitality of materials from which they are made.

Zalsupinʼs early admiration for Oscar Niemeyer inspired his immigration to Brazil from Europe in 1949. He was peerless as a midcentury architect/designer in his use of geometric and organic shapes, introducing new manufacturing materials to produce pieces with innovative curvature.
