Handwoven Tuareg Nomad Rug in Sahara
Hand woven by the Tuareg tribes of the Western Sahara. Built using traditional materials and techniques, in reed palm and camel leather. The tradition of making Tuareg rugs dates back to the early seventeenth century.
Each Tuareg mat is individual, telling a story through its ancient design and symbols. The result is a resilient piece of living artwork – a representation of the maker’s heritage, intended to endure the rigors of nomadic life in the Sahara desert. Often, these mats are one of the few possessions these minimalist nomads carried with them.
Tuareg Nomad Rug in Sahara, features brown earth-tone colors, with smaller-scaled patterns in a striped design.
