Ralph Lauren x TÓPA, Medicine Seed Bag
Jocy and Trae Little Sky founded TÓPA to carry their Northern Plains heritage into contemporary design. Members of the Oceti Sakowin (People of Seven Council Fires) the husband-and-wife artists practice beadwork, quilling, and leatherwork, creating regalia for their family’s participation in Pow Wows.
Their label takes its name from the word for “four,” reflecting the significance of the four directions, seasons, and stages of life.
Created through Ralph Lauren’s Artist in Residence program, the Medicine Seed Bag draws from bags the couple originally made for their daughters. Hand-applied beadwork depicts Dakota floral motifs, honoring plants as sacred relatives and sources of nourishment, medicine, and knowledge. Cascading fringe represents the movement of energy.
Crafted from sheepskin suede with a cotton twill lining, the bag features a braided suede strap that adjusts for wear across the body or as a backpack.
