Nik Gelormino, Brass Heart Box
Los Angeles–based artist Nik Gelormino works across sculpture and design, bringing meticulous handwork and a playful sense of humor to familiar objects. A Cooper Union graduate who works primarily in wood and metal, often carving forms by hand before casting them in brass.
Rooted in a Californian tradition of material experimentation, his practice explores the relationship between art and daily life. Tools, houses, and everyday objects take on unexpected forms, with intricate details and inscriptions inviting closer inspection.
This brass heart-shaped box features hand-carved stars and the inscription “Ojo Caliente, 2024.”
Gelormino’s exhibitions include Well, his 2026 solo presentation at Fernberger Gallery in Los Angeles, alongside solo and two-person shows at House of Seiko in San Francisco and Sea View in Los Angeles. His work has also appeared in group exhibitions at Marta, Los Angeles; Sans Titre, Paris; and Venus Over Manhattan, New York.
