This book follows the 2012 traveling exhibition Pulse Dome Project: Art & Design by Don ZanFagna. Publisher's description: Don ZanFagna was a visionary who often viewed the world through a binary lens while also always seeking congruence. He did so to understand better the significance of our current Anthropocene Epoch and its ultimate purpose. Why are we truly here? His art and life were profoundly shaped by the concept of the seen and unseen, or what he called the INFRA / ULTRA. Whereas his aerial experiences as a youth and as a pilot became the initial viewpoint that enlarged ZanFagna's perspective, it was his inborn and unceasing curiosity that truly sparked his imagination. The notebooks presented in this book document a mind ablaze in near-constant discovery and discourse with the world as it has been apprehended by theorists and practitioners who went before him. The artist has left us an erratic map with telltale markers to help navigate our own journey toward understanding. This publication includes an introduction to INFRA / ULTRA from Don ZanFagna; essays by Kirsten Moran, Mark Sloan, and Linda Weintraub; and over 250 reproductions from pages of ZanFagna's notebooks.
