Marion de Crécy Sunburst Mirror — France 1980s
Enameled ceramic sunburst mirror composed of stylized suns, crescent moons, and stars, layered around a central mirrored plate with richly glazed and gilded surfaces.
Designed by Marion de Crécy, daughter of French ceramicist Mithé Espelt.
Raised in the Camargue region of southern France, Espelt studied sculpture and drawing at the Beaux-Arts in Montpellier before establishing her workshop at the Hôtel de Bernis in Lunel—creating a distinctive body of mirrors, boxes, and decorative objects in sculpted ceramic, vivid enamel, and gilding.
