Susie Taylor draws inspiration from the Bauhaus model of integrating Art, Design, and Craft, and The Weaving Workshop at Black Mountain College, where female students applied fundamental Bauhaus ideals that contributed to elevating weaving to a new modernist level.

This diptych reflects duality appropriately titled Fade: Yellow to Blue, Fade: Blue to Yellow; the interplay of yarns produces discernible color tones and textures that support a deeper exploration of translucency, opacity, saturation, and color interaction. The artist states, " I am guided by an intuitive sense of geometry and mathematical practicality to explore structure-based, multi-layered constructions that rely on loom control and hand manipulation."
