Active from the 1950s through the 1970s, Olko brought an architect’s sensibility to furniture design, pairing modernist structure with natural materials such as bamboo, rattan, and cane. As president of Willow & Reed, he helped shape the firm’s distinctive bamboo furniture — sculptural pieces that merge mid-century modern clarity with the relaxed glamour of 1970s Hollywood Regency interiors.
