The open design of these Italian Rattan chairs surrounds the body with hand-shaped reeds. The 1960s and 70s high-volume silhouette radically reinstated the lounge chair. Popularized in Italy and the United States the midcentury cool of these silhouettes were coveted in coastal destinations. A prime feature of Hollywood glamour, this design was included in the most revered bungalows in California and villas on Lake Cuomo and the Italian coast from the 60's to today—custom cushion in "zinnia" fabric by Jocelyn Hobbie for album 4.
