Los Castillo Frog Pitcher — 1960s
Hand-wrought brass pitcher by Los Castillo, with carved malachite frog, and inlaid malachite figures around the surface.
Founded in 1939 by Antonio Castillo and his brothers, Los Castillo helped define midcentury Taxco metalwork after training in William Spratling’s workshop. The studio became known for mixed metals, silver plate, brass, copper, and hardstone inlay — bringing Mexican silver craft into vessels, table objects, and sculptural decorative forms.
