French lamp by Georges Pelletier — Ateliers Accolay, 1970s
Sculptural French lamp, 1970s, by Georges Pelletier for Ateliers Accolay.
The piece pairs a towering translucent resin shade—cast with preserved botanicals—with a ceramic base fitted with a discreet downlight. This layered lighting effect casts a soft ambient glow while subtly illuminating the base. Signed.
Born in Brussels in 1938, Pelletier trained in Paris and Venice before collaborating with Ateliers Accolay.
Active from the mid-1940s through the 1980s, the Burgundy ceramics collective developed ceramics known for experimental processes, expressive surfaces, and bold sculptural forms.
